Quinni-Con 2016: Hey Everyone!
Quinni-Con is a non-profit event and a celebration of Asian and pop culture, graphic arts, and anime. Since 2012, the convention has grown to be Quinnipiac University’s largest student organized event and the most attended event outside of sports. In 2013, Quinni-Con won Program of the Year awarded by the university and has received multiple nominations thereafter.
Over 150 hours of programming is provided to the campus and local community with a notable number of attendees travelling from out of state to take part in the event. Special guests from the youtube, comic, and voice acting industries are invited to speak in panels and local artists and vendors come to display their works. Each year, the convention hosts a raffle, dance, cafe, screenings, and multiple gaming tournaments in addition to the panels. Costume contests and other games are held in the main stage area for all attendees to enjoy. Approximately $1,600 was earned in 2014 through raffle ticket sales and donations over the course of the weekend and the full amount was donated to Child’s Play Charity.
